The goal of this project was to create a wide-angle camera using four Edimax IC-1000 Ethernet cameras and an Edimax broadband router. Specifically, an Edimax BR6104K was reprogrammed to take images from the four ethernet cameras and create a panoramic image which it could output on its WAN port. The router, after reprogramming, is controlled the same way as a single camera, so the set of utilities present to control cameras should still work for the wide-angle camera. The panorama gets constructed within the router through a simple lookup table, where pixels in a cylindrically projected panorama have their colors selected based on color information in the four separate images.
